Movie Description:
Nieh Yun-peng, a young merchant, marries Feng Ai-chiao, who is possessed by the ghost of Feng A-nu, a girl who was murdered 20 years ago. Ta Huo-tzu, servant of Nieh Yun-peng, marries Wei Yin-erh, servant of Feng Ai-chiao. The help of Tai I Shan Jen is sought to exorcize the ghost from Feng Ai-chiao. Although not convinced his wife is possessed, Nieh Yun-peng is instructed to protect himself from ghosts by spraying a mouthful of human blood over the ghost’s face. In truth, Feng A-nu was killed by Nieh Jen-hou, uncle of Nieh Yun-peng, and Chin Ju-shan. The ghost of Feng A-nu has appeared in Feng Ai-chiao to take revenge. Chin Ju-shan and Nieh Jen-hou go to Feng A-nu’s grave to open it and see what is inside, but nothing is found. By this time Nieh Yun-peng and Ta Huo-tzu suspect their wives might be possessed. Feng Ai-chiao captures the spirit of Chin Ju-shan and keeps it inside a fan. When one day her husband uses the fan, she becomes overly excited and the ghost within her appears. Nieh Yun-peng unsuccessfully attempts to use a charm against the ghost. Recalling the advice of spraying blood, he tries this. The ghost disappears and Feng Ai-chiao regains her beauty. Ta Huo-tzu copies his master’s action and sprays his wife with blood. As she is not possessed, the only result is her anger.
